Welcome to Papatoetoe Swim Club

We are an amateur swimming club and a gateway to competitive swimming.

The process to join the club is simple, the swimmer’s swimming skill is assessed and should they pass an entry level assessment they will train and develop in one of our five developing training squads.  From here the coaches will work to improve and develop their swimming techniques, naturally this varies for each swimmer.

The culture of the club is to develop confident and competent swimmers.  This not only benefits the swimmer personally, but also the local community as swimmers train six days a week in full view of the patrons also using the swimming pool facility (and our club base).  It has and does inspire parents/caregivers to join up their children because swimming promotes fitness and wellbeing.  It also inspires parents/caregivers/anyone watching to give swimming a go whether you are 1 years old or 90 years old.

Several of our swimmers (and past swimmers) help our local community by becoming lifeguards at the local pool, or swimming coaches within the various local programmes that are offered.

Swimming is a life skill that can be taught at any age.  The broad range of swimming abilities that our club caters allows swimmers to then pass the skills they have learnt to their parents, their siblings, their peers, or anyone wanting any swimming tips.

We are the stepping stone to great swimming and beyond.
